Actually crying with laughter at this one...clearly the US approach to PE in the 80s was mirrored in the UK (I blame Thatcher and Reagan...just because I can). No wonder we both were quite happy ton run up that mahoosive hill in Siena!

My high school PE is all making sense after reading this - they were really just training us for Red Dawn (and that more than explains the interest in trying to build the neck muscles with that potential spine-destroying contraption). I thought our classes were a little traumatizing, but nothing like this. Glad I didn't have to bear crawl or knee rugby too much.
