Trying something new is usually quite frightening which is why trying something new for self-improvement purposes or simply to maximize life experience is an ill-advised strategy for anyone capable of experiencing fear. Please don’t try and counter this logic by reflecting upon and realizing that everything you do now as a matter of routine - namely smoking or shoplifting - at one point was new. That newness is now in the past, and we all know it’s pointless to desperately cling to the past no matter how great high-school was, and that in fact the past itself is also quite terrifying and should be avoided at all costs, like a big, fat bear walking along the sidewalk searching for delicious berries to devour – just leave that bear alone, nothing good’s going to come from tangling with it. Good grief.
You gave me the inspiration to write an article about movies on overcoming fear! In the end, yes it's right to try something new—provided the benefits outweigh the risks. It's the richness of our experiences that count. That's where meaning and joy can be found, and it will be "rewarding in the long run, worth the fear and uncertainty."

Thanks so much and I can't tell you how thrilling it is to think I inspired any kind of positive action! :)
That's awesome!
